About LBG

What Labels Be Gone Is Really About

Labels Be Gone is for people who are done performing for the comforts of other people under expectations that they never asked for nor agreed to. It is for people who are ready to show up as who they actually are wherever they are.

It started with a truth most of us know but rarely say out loud: we’re not stuck because we lack drive or talent. We’re stuck because we’re still operating from labels we were handed before we had the words to refuse them.

“Too sensitive.” “Not Black enough.” “The strong one.” “The good girl.” “The dependable one.” “The one who always manages.”

This work will help you to see and question the stories that have shaped how you’ve moved through the world. After identifying these stories (and the ideas about yourself), you will find yourself confident enough to release the labels that no longer serve you.

Why This Matters

On the surface, a lot of us look like we’ve got it together. We deliver. We achieve. We hold things down.

But something underneath doesn’t always add up.

We overextend. We edit ourselves. We push our needs to the side. We mistake surviving as a life standard and call exhaustion excellence.

Labels Be Gone isn’t about reinventing yourself. It’s about unbecoming what you had to be just to get through — so you can finally be your authentically whole self.

What Drives This Work

Many things inspire this work, but the primary inspiration has been Nicole’s personal experience with how greatly her quality of life improved after she finally embraced the below personal truths:

What We Actually Do

Labels Be Gone builds tools, resources, and spaces that help people and teams:

  • spot the patterns and beliefs keeping them small
  • stay grounded when the pressure is high
  • let go of old survival modes that don’t fit anymore
  • perform from a place that’s actually sustainable
  • lead with honesty, self-trust, and clarity

You’ll find this work in:

  • The book: It’s Not Me, It’s You
  • Essays and real talk on leadership and identity
  • Workshops, keynotes, and organizational resources
  • The LBG Ember Suite — a space for honest reflection
  • Frameworks that turn emotional intelligence into something you can use

We show up without judgment, without the buzzwords, and without asking you to perform your healing for anyone's approval.

Who This Is For

This work is for anyone navigating the “Messy Middle” of life. You look successful on the outside, but on the inside, you feel disconnected.

Personal Life

  • Overthinking every aspect of life because you think perfection is possible.
  • Overcommitting to everyone because you don’t want to “let them down.”
  • Telling yourself “I can handle this” no matter what life is throwing at you.
  • Always sacrificing what you want for the “greater good.”

Professional Life

  • High performers who are tired of white-knuckling it (about 15-25 years into your career).
  • Leaders under pressure but struggle to stay regulated
  • Professionals wondering why working harder stopped working
  • Organizations ready to stabilize teams by actually supporting the people on them

If you've ever thought, "Why does this have to be so hard?" — you're exactly where you need to be.

The Person Behind It

Labels Be Gone was created by Nicole Lynn Morris — a woman who’s been navigating her own “Messy Middle” for many years. She’s a mother, daughter, wife (and all the personal roles) while also being a corporate leader, author, and strategist who’s spent years in high-pressure environments while doing the quiet, hard work of unlearning what she was told to be.

Her work connects the personal to the professional, translating lived experience and emotional insight into language that leaders and organizations can practically apply.

This isn’t about oversharing. It’s about truth with intention that translates to conscious power and self-influence.

What's Next

Labels Be Gone is becoming a space for:

  • real conversations about identity, performance, and what leadership (self, at home, and professional) actually requires
  • tools that help you regulate, not just push through
  • communities built on honesty, accountability, and self-embrace first
  • workplaces where people are supported in their excellence — not drained by it

The launch of It’s Not Me, It’s You is just the start.

“You don’t need to be fixed; you need to be free.”

Nicole Lynn Morris

An Invitation

You don’t have to keep living under labels that don’t fit anymore. You don’t have to earn your rest, your worth, or your place. You don’t have to carry what was never yours.

This is your invitation to put it down.

Welcome to Labels Be Gone.
